Hey y’all!
How has your week been? Mine’s been a crazy busy one, and with moving Pulse day and updated routines, I’m just trying to get used to stuff now. I think it’ll take a couple of weeks.
I think I’ve made the right decision (based on some feedback from you), but we’ll have to wait and see. Please bear with me while I’m trying to figure it out.
Let’s dive straight in, shall we?

Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder
What’s fragile? Well, a lot of things are fragile, like a glass cup. If it falls, it’ll break.
But what’s the opposite of fragile? Robust? Like when a glass cup falls, but it doesn’t break, right?
What if that glass cup became more robust due to that stress of falling?
“For what he calls the "antifragile" is one step beyond robust, as it benefits from adversity, uncertainty and stressors, just as human bones get stronger when subjected to stress and tension.
Taleb stands uncertainty on its head, making it desirable, and proposing that things be built in an antifragile manner. Extremely ambitious and multidisciplinary, Antifragile provides a blueprint for how to behave-and thrive-in a world we don't understand and which is too uncertain for us to even try to understand. He who is not antifragile will perish. Why is the city state better than the nation state, why is debt bad for you, and why is almost everything modern bound to fail? The book covers innovation, health, biology, medicine, life decisions, politics, foreign policy, urban planning, war, personal finance, and economic systems. Throughout, the voice and recipes of the ancient wisdom from Phoenician, Roman, Greek, and Medieval sources are heard loud and clear.” via GoodReads.
That’s a short explanation of what Nassim Taleb means by antifragile systems — like our body’s immunity system. You get chickenpox once, and you’re immune to it for the rest of your life. Chickenpox doesn’t break the system; it strengthens it.
Taleb is a fantastic writer and thinker and antifragile is a great read. Highly recommend it, especially if you’ve read his previous books: The Black Swan and Skin in the Game.

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Creams on How I Built This
Do I have to repeat telling you I’m a big fan of HIBT, and it’s one of those podcasts I binged when I first got to know it?
One of the episodes I recently revisited was the story of Ben Cohen And Jerry Greenfield — and how Ben & Jerry’s was created.
Goes and grabs an ice cream.
It’s a fantastic story and even if you’ve heard it before, listen again. I’m sure you’ll learn a thing or two.
listen to it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Google Podcasts.

Recom is an audio-centric social network (-ish) where communities of experts handpick quality content, summarise them, add their experiences to them, and share them with their communities.
It’s pretty cool. I’ve been using it in Persian/Farsi for a while, but not much in English. I’ll probably start that soon.
📺 One gift for you.
