The total number of mobile subscriptions was around 7.9 billion in Q3 2018, with 120 million new subscriptions added during the quarter.
As of Q3 2018, the number of global mobile subscriptions totalled 7.9 billion.
The number of new mobile subscriptions worldwide during Q3 reached 120 million.
China had the most net additions in Q3, likely due to intense competition among communications service providers.
There are now 5.7 billion mobile broadband subscriptions.
Global subscription penetration in Q3 2018 was 104 percent.

Fortnite is Taking Over Game Industry
Fortnite, the free-to-play multiplayer game particularly popular among young players and professional athletes, just reached another milestone. Epic Games, the company behind Fortnite, announced this week that its blockbuster title now has more than 200 million registered users. That’s up from just 45 million in January 2018, meaning that the global hype surrounding the game has attracted more than 150 million new players over the past 11 months.
Last month, Epic Games raised $1.25 billion from a group of investors in a deal valuing Epic at $15 billion. If Fortnite can keep the momentum going into 2019, the company’s valuation could be propelled even higher.
