Hello friends 👋
So… I’m not gonna add a ‘stuff I could relate to’ section to Pulse just yet, but I did cross paths with a bunch of stuff that ended up being somehow related to each other — and to myself.
First, this EDEN song, which isn’t new to me, but I just learned the last part (4:05) of the song is a dialogue from the movie Lost in Translation, which I still haven’t seen, but will probably try.
These all came from Hidden Brain’s latest episode; the first of this summer’s You 2.0 series: Cultivating Your Purpose [Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts | Spotify]. If you haven’t listened to HB’s You 2.0 series, please do. It’s so worth it.
And then this tweet from Naval kinda tied things together for me:
And now I’m thinking… I just don’t know what I’m supposed to be… Am I making a mistake trying to write? But I love it… and I think I have something to say… or do I?
Now, a quick question: has Pulse (after 145 issues) brought you any value? If yes, can you either reply to this email or leave a comment below? I need some feedback — hopefully positive. Thank you.
Now, let’s jump in.

Worth Your Attention
Summer School by Planet Money.
well, Planet Money is one of my favourite podcasts, and their second summer school programme is definitely worth your attention. if you haven’t heard the first season, do listen to last year’s episodes as well.
Not what you asked for, but just what you needed by Seth Godin.
a super-short piece, but something that made so much sense — [ at least] to me.

How Many Websites Are There?
30 years ago, on 6 August 1991, British physicist Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in Switzerland published the first ever website, the WorldWideWeb (W3). Fittingly, the site was about the World Wide Web project, describing the Web and how to use it. Hosted at CERN on Berners-Lee’s NeXT computer, the site’s URL was http://info.cern.ch.
By the end of 1992 there were ten websites online and, after CERN made the W3 technology publicly available on a royalty-free basis in 1993, the internet gradually started to grow into the all-encompassing giant that it is today. A "Website" is defined a unique hostname, i.e. a name which can be resolved, using a name server, into an IP Address
